[Exhibition Walking into the Vanishing Point. The Conceptual Works of Bill Vazan, VOX, Contemporary Image Centre, Montreal, 05.05. - 23.06.2007]
Bill Vazan's practice is
generally associated with land art and photographic
montages. Yet in the late 1960s, the artist began
developing a singular conceptual language, creating
a number of emblematic works. This first monograph
devoted to his Conceptual work attempt to pay
tribute to an inventive, rigorous, and profound
body of work that has not garnered special attention
until now. It includes an interview with Patrice
Loubier and essays by Marie-Josée Jean
and Johanne Sloan, as well as a bio-bibliography
compiled by Claudine Roger.
This publication is pursuant to an exhibition
presented at VOX in 2007 in collaboration
with art history students from the Université
du Québec à Montréal.
