Kristan Horton
From January 10 to February 21, 2009.
Opening and launch on Saturday January, 10 at 4:00 pm.
EXHIBITION VIEWS
Kristan Horton is influenced by popular culture, mostly by cinema. In his recent project, he reproduce in a satyrical and humorous way more than 200 images from Stanley Kubrick’s film Dr. Strangelove (1964). Horton recreates the structures and elements of the film with strange materials, found in his immediate environment. The connection that sets the film and the artist photographs shows the power of sounds, ideas, familiarity and objects in our lecture of cultural icons.
VOX will exhibit a selection of 38 diptychs from the series.
