Jordi Colomer
enquires in his work into the principle of an architecture
in which everything must be visible from the outside.
Dortoir, his most recent video, presents a
transverse view of a fictitious architecture, which
shows the scene on the morning after an enormous party,
in reference to a chapter in the book Life A User's
Manual by Georges Perec. The camera roams from
floor to floor, unperturbed by the limitations of the
space, moving about strangely in this decor filled with
the refuse from a party, occasionally scrutinising the
characters, who are sound asleep.
Jordi Colomer
was born in 1962 and lives and works in Barcelona. His
videos have been the subject of numerous solo and group
exhibitions in Europe. His work has been shown at the
Villa Arson in Nice, at the Galerie Michel Rein in Paris
(2002), at the Juan de Aizpuru gallery in Madrid, at
the Centre d'art Santa Mònica in Barcelona (2000), at
the Centre d'art contemporain le Creux de l'Enfer in
Thiers (1999), and at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de
Barcelona (1998).
